Ambiance
Cannibal Cafe is cool
little place on Commercial Drive that features a punk rock theme. As we
stepped foot inside for the first time, we noticed that the restaurant is
on the smaller side and almost reminded me of a diner. This place would be
perfect for groups of 4 or smaller; big groups will find themselves waiting for
quiet awhile during peak times. Overall, you will find Cannibal Cafe to be an
awesome place that is completely decked out in punk rock themed memorabilia.
Food
The food served up by Cannibal
Cafe is a must try, especially their Deep-Fried Pickles (see below). Cannibal
Cafe is known for serving up some great burgers and they did not disappoint. I
would personally recommend getting the Bacon Bad burger. The Bacon Bad features
an organic beef patty with cheddar cheese, apple wood smoked bacon, and a bacon
bourbon jam. Alternatively, you also have the option of picking your own
ingredients for your own customer burger. If you're really feeling brave, you
could take on Cannibals infamous burger, The Beast. Click here to
check this thing out!
Now let’s chat about
the deep-fried pickles for a second. I've been on bit of mission lately to find
the best deep-fried pickles in the city and I think I might have found them.
Cannibal Cafe has panko deep fried pickles and beer battered. We ordered the
panko fried pickles after hearing a lot of good things about them. The deep-fried
pickles are number 1 on my list and you have to try them to find out for
yourself just how good they are.
Service
We visited late on a Friday
night and the place was busy. As a group of 5, we had to wait about 15 minutes
before being seated, which wasn't bad at all. The servers here all sort of fit
the look of the stereotypical punk rocker, following the theme of the rest of
place in their appearance. Overall, everyone we encountered was super friendly
and sociable. Our food and drinks came out in a reasonable amount of time for
how busy it was. I have no complaints about the food or service and I highly
recommend you try Cannibal Cafe if you're looking for a good place to get a
great burger and drinks.
