Ambiance

Texx Big Burger is a small little burger joint located in North Surrey. The restaurant has several tables available for those that want to sit in and eat but most people tend to take their food home. The walls of this place are decorated with the pictures of the people that have completed the Texx burger challenge.

Food

The burgers at Texx Big Burger are some of the best burgers available anywhere. The thing that makes Texx burgers amazing is the quality and simplicity of the ingredients. Additionally, like many other top notch burger places, you pick your own toppings. As a result, the burgers end up tasting delicious and just how you would make it at home.

The star of the show at Texx is the perfectly seasoned juicy beef; nothing is worse than a burger place that serves you a burger that tastes frozen.

Texx Burger also features made-to-order fresh cut fries which are delicious.

Overall, Texx Big Burger is easily in the top 5 best burger places in the Lower Mainland but don't take our word for it, try it yourself and see!

Service

The service at Texx Big Burger is always great. You walk up to the front counter and fill out an order sheet (see picture below). Then, simply hand the sheet over and wait for the goodness to arrive.

Ambiance

Cannibal Cafe is cool little place on Commercial Drive that features a punk rock theme. As we stepped foot inside for the first time, we noticed that the restaurant is on the smaller side and almost reminded me of a diner. This place would be perfect for groups of 4 or smaller; big groups will find themselves waiting for quiet awhile during peak times. Overall, you will find Cannibal Cafe to be an awesome place that is completely decked out in punk rock themed memorabilia.

Food

The food served up by Cannibal Cafe is a must try, especially their Deep-Fried Pickles (see below). Cannibal Cafe is known for serving up some great burgers and they did not disappoint. I would personally recommend getting the Bacon Bad burger. The Bacon Bad features an organic beef patty with cheddar cheese, apple wood smoked bacon, and a bacon bourbon jam. Alternatively, you also have the option of picking your own ingredients for your own customer burger. If you're really feeling brave, you could take on Cannibals infamous burger, The Beast. Now let’s chat about the deep-fried pickles for a second. I've been on bit of mission lately to find the best deep-fried pickles in the city and I think I might have found them. Cannibal Cafe has panko deep fried pickles and beer battered. We ordered the panko fried pickles after hearing a lot of good things about them. The deep-fried pickles are number 1 on my list and you have to try them to find out for yourself just how good they are.

Service

We visited late on a Friday night and the place was busy. As a group of 5, we had to wait about 15 minutes before being seated, which wasn't bad at all. The servers here all sort of fit the look of the stereotypical punk rocker, following the theme of the rest of place in their appearance. Overall, everyone we encountered was super friendly and sociable. Our food and drinks came out in a reasonable amount of time for how busy it was. I have no complaints about the food or service and I highly recommend you try Cannibal Cafe if you're looking for a good place to get a great burger and drinks.

Ambiance

Cilantro Indian Cuisine has a cool beach side vibe to it with indoor and outdoor seating that features an amazing view of the ocean. The restaurant is a small place that has a clean and tidy look. One of the things that caught our attention was that the place has almost a sports bar like vibe to it; there are at least 6 TVs and the bar itself features diamond plating. Cilantro offers amazing food with a good ambiance.

Food

Cilantro Indian Cuisine is a newly opened Indian restaurant on the strip in White Rock. We visited Cilantro for the first time and we walked in with high hopes of finding another good Indian restaurant that could be compared to Tasty's. All I can is, we were not disappointed at all with Cilantro. We ordered Paneer Pakoras to start followed by Butter Chicken and Shahi Paneer with Garlic Naan. Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious.

The Paneer Pakoras had a beer batter like texture that was perfectly crisp and tasty. The Butter Chicken and Shahi Paneer were both absolutely delicious but I would recommend asking for them to at least medium hot. The star of the show was definitely the Garlic Naan; some of best we have ever had.

Overall, Cilantro is an amazing little place to get some fantastic Indian food. They may be the new kid on the block but they will definitely be regarded as one of the best if they keep up the good work.

Service

This was our first time visiting the newly opened restaurant and we have no complaints about the service. Our server was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. We visited late on Wednesday evening so the place wasn't that busy. The true test of the quality of service will be during peak hours. If they can maintain a high level of service during busy times, they will set themselves apart from many other Indian restaurants in the Lower Mainland and build themselves a solid reputation.

Ambiance

Tasty Indian Bistro has an ambiance that is unlike most other Indian restaurants in the Lower Mainland. As you walk in for the first time, you might be reminded of a Cactus Club. There are a 3 different dining areas that all appear to have a slightly different theme and a spacious patio area. In addition to the open dining area, there is also a private room that you could book for large groups. Tasty's atmosphere is lively and enjoyable with people conversing all over and music playing in the background.

Food

Tasty Indian Bistro had quickly become our go-to spot for Indian Food after they had their grand opening in Delta. Prior to the Delta location, Tasty's operated a much smaller restaurant that served amazing food; the quality and taste of their food is second to none in my opinion. I would recommend the Vegetarian and Paneer Pakoras (pictured below) for an appetizer and Butter Chicken with Garlic Naan for dinner. The appetizers at Tasty's come in large portions which are great to share family style.

Service

We have been to Tasty's many times and the service has been fantastic every single time. The servers at this place know what they are doing and they have great social skills unlike the servers at many other restaurants in Surrey. Another great thing about Tasty Indian Bistro is their online wait time system. Once you have checked in, it is very easy to go online and see where you are in line and what your approximate wait time will be; more restaurants need to implement this system. Overall, if you are looking for amazing Indian food in Greater Vancouver, Tasty Indian Bistro is the place you want to be at!

Ambiance

The Fox and Fiddle has a typical pub feel to it with plenty of TV's around playing the game. They have a pool table and as well as keno in house; further adding to the pub feel.

Food

I found the food at The Fox to be a delicious addition to some ice-cold beer. Typically, we tend go for appetizers that can be share rather than full entrees. Our favorites are the deep-fried pickles, fish tacos, Irish nachos,  and onion rings (all pictured below).

Service

We have only ever sat at the bar at The Fox and in our experience, the service has been great. The bartenders are frequently striking up conversations and socializing with patrons; all while paying attention to everybody’s drinks.
